Program Description
The Navy’s Financial Assistance Program (FAP) is an incentive program that supplements civilian
residents’ income in identified specialties in exchange for a period of service as a full-time specialty
physician in one of many Naval Medical Treatment Facilities.
That is ALMOST $69,000 a year on top of residency pay
Obligation
Year-for-year plus one. For example, a three-year resident would receive over $200,000 in Financial
Assistance during residency. Service time as a Navy Physician/Dentist would be fours years upon
completion of residency.
Qualifications
Must be a U. S. Citizen
Graduate of AMA, AOA, or ADA approved medical school in the US, Canada, or Puerto Rico
